Become a SkyWest Avionics Technician

SkyWest is currently hiring qualified individuals to work as Avionics Technicians. As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible to perform all maintenance functions and effectively troubleshoot the SkyWest fleet of CRJ200, CRJ700, CRJ900 and E175 aircraft.

Bench Technicians

To qualify for the bench override in base locations and work as an avionics bench technician, one of the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Graduated from an accredited avionics school
  • Military training in avionics/electronics
  • Associate degree or higher in electronics and Hold Qty 2 vendor level 3 equipment repair certificates in addition to 12 months avionics bench repair experience and have an avionics bench position assigned
  • A&P and FCC GROL certificates with Qty 2 vendor level 3 equipment repair certificates in addition to 12 months avionics bench repair experience, as well as provide evidence of knowledge in electronics fundamentals and have an avionics bench position assigned
Training, Uniforms and Pay

SkyWest Airlines provides in-house training on the equipment we operate. During training, avionics technicians are paid their hourly rate based on a 40-hour workweek. If the employee has to attend training in a location away from their home base, SkyWest Airlines will provide hotel accommodations and a per diem for meal expenses.

SkyWest Airlines supplies and cleans avionics technician uniforms at no cost to the employee.

Pay is based on previous experience and will be discussed during the interview.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

SkyWest Avionic Techs comply with FAA regulations as they work to solve routine and non-routine technical issues. They troubleshoot and repair aircraft electronic system, working rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, night shifts, overtime and road trips as need.
